Step back in time to the 1850?s and enjoy a visit to Old GippstownGippsland’s Heritage Park, Moe (Next to McDonald’s). This complete Historical Township filled with authentic buildings and décor makes an ideal venue for weddings and functions. Old Gippstown is also renowned for its Coach house which contains one of Victoria’s best collections of horse drawn vehicles.

The beautiful garden settings are perfect for picnics and barbeques. You can also see a large variety of agricultural and industrial machinery ranging from horse drawn, steam-driven or manually operated, and the blacksmiths forge, in which many were manufactured.

The general store and dressmaking shop contain displays of original implements used around the home in the 1850s. Tynong Theatre, at which a screening of old black and white movies / newsreel / shorts can be arranged for visitors. Prior Arrangements must be made.

  • Visit the Local Police station and spend a short stretch in the local jail.
  • Drop past the local doctor’s quarters – Don’t forget to look out for the ghost!
  • Please note our opening hours have      changed.  We are now open 7 days  week 9.30-3.30pm Mon to Fri and 7-4 Sat & Sun AH by appointment

We have a number of locations that can cater for your reception.

Undercover Area

The undercover area of Old Gippstown is fully equipped with a stage, a wood & corrugated iron bar, and fireplaces to create a location that can be suited to any of your Wedding Reception needs.

Narracan Hall

There is the Narracan East Mechanics Institute that can be set up to accommodate a maximum of 65 people seated. The area is fully self-contained with toilets, kitchen facilities (stove and refrigerator).

Shearing Shed

The Shearing Shed is also a popular location for Wedding Receptions, taking advantage of it’s authentic rustic feel to give your reception a Australian pioneering style like no other.

Set up is your choice and we can guide you and give you contacts for service providers. The facility is available until 1:00 am, and can be set up prior to the day.

There is also choices covering outside/garden venues as well as the shearing shed.
